Vor weniger langer Zeit rief mich mein Freund Aimo Nyland – Perkussionist und der Inbegriff der genial ausgefuchsten Zuvielkaffeefrickelrhythmik – an, und lud mich ein, das Tonstudio eines Jugendfreundes nahe Verden, Aimo’s friesischem Heimatdorf, für eine Woche gratis zu bevölkern. Der Inhaber war der lokalen Punkbands (nichts gegen Punk) müde und wollte ein paar schöne Referenzen für sein Studio produzieren, weshalb er unserer Kreativität dort freie Bahn gestattete. Im Rausch der Inspiration schrieb ich mit Aimo den Song „Freitag XIII“, für den Aimo mir den Groove und das Bassriff lieferte, worauf ich die Changes und das Thema ergänzte.
